Broken speed limit sign
Reported via iOS in the Conditions of Signs category anonymously at 17:03, Tue 12 October 2021
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3058455.
Dear Sirs, This speed limit sign was installed in corrugated plastic. It appears to have broken in the wind. There are several other speed limit signs in Sandbach, each made of corrugated plastic, which have all broken in the same way. The result is the signs display no discernible speed limit and are also twisted around to make what is visible confusing. I am afraid tomsay these plastic signs are worse than useless, because drivers use a poorly posted speed limit as an excuse to break the speed limit. Even in the short time I was near this sign, I witnessed at least four cars travelling in excess of 40mph. Not a very comendable use of taxpayers’ money in a school zone. Over to Cheshire East Council to sort it out. Yours faithfully, Simon Turner
