CW2 8QU outside number 1 and immediately across the road

Reported via mobile in the Hedge/Tree Maintenance category by Michael Bell at 10:14, Mon 27 September 2021

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3026850.

Tree surgeon, Robb Hassall, has attended for a second time at my request to advise on further falling branches and intrusion of branches on to my property. He reports that two large Ash trees are diseased with 'Ash Die-Back' and require attention. There are also two trees on the opposite verge which he has identified as in a dying state. Debris from the Ash trees is falling regularly on to the verge and the pavement. Photo attached shows debris, some of which I have had to cut up before moving. These trees require immediate attention before some one is injured by falling debris or property is damaged. The tree surgeon and I must put you on notice that you have been notified of this problem and that the Council could be responsible for any damage or injury resulting from these trees in their current, dangerous condition. My previous contact with you, reference 3437179, has yet to be responded to by yourselves. Thank you

  • We have assessed the issue and it needs to be inspected by a qualified arborist. The time it will take to carry out the inspection will depend on the priorities of the arborist. We will update your report once we have more information.

  • I am still waiting for an update regarding the arborist's report. The two ash trees and the oversized birch tree had been marked on the trunks with a white circle and a white arrow on the ground (which has obviously now disappeared) These trees are still shedding large pieces of branch on to the grass verge and pavements. Action is needed quickly before someone is injured by falling branches. Please urge your chosen arborist to visit and report quickly so that this issue can be sorted before the situation escalates. Thank you
