Permanent Traffic Lights problem
Reported via Open311 in the Permanent Traffic Lights category by Cheshire East Council at 14:37, Tue 21 July 2020
Council ref: 2210469.
We live at 3 Manchester Road, facing the Huub store and opposite the junction with Macclesfield Road. This morning, during rush hour, we heard brakes and a bang. The collision was between an articulated lorry and a car. It looked as if the lorry had been coming from Macclesfield Road and was turning right in front of the shop. The car was in front and had damage to the offside rear quarter. I’m guessing the car had stopped for the pedestrian crossing and the lorry driver hadn’t seen him. The same sort of incidence happened a few weeks ago when a 34 bus seemed to have done the same thing. There is no indication on Macclesfield Road that there is a crossing and that there may be standing traffic out of sight. For this to happen twice in a short time when very few collisions have happened here in the 33 years we have lived here, suggests there is a problem - which does include poor driving.
