Noise or Vibration problem

Reported via Open311 in the Noise or Vibration category by Cheshire East Council at 19:02, Mon 13 July 2020

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2198887.

Since living on Slaughter Hill since December the amount of traffic speeding and using the road like a race track has increased. The number of heavy goods vehicles going past my house and making it shake has increased this goes on throughout the day and night. The national speed limit is unjustifiable on the road. The amount of times I am awaken by the screeching of tyres locking up as they approach the sharp bends is ridiculous. The speed limit higher up the road is 40. You have reduced the speed limit on straight none populated roads around the county to 50 yet the dangerous road layout coupled with there being no pavements to stand on waiting at the bus stops remains at National. I can’t use the bus stops through fear of getting ran over.
More cyclists are using the road and on many occasions I hear motorist beeping there horns And abusing cyclists as they go past. It puts me on edge.
The heavy goods vehicles are my main concern as it physically shakes and rattles my house when I am in bed my bed shakes. If they were to slow down this may reduce the impact on my life.
I am aware that it’s not a highly populated area but something needs to be done.
I doubt a reduction in speed will stop people racing bikes and cars down the road but if other measures were looked at such as signs that light up approaching the sharp bends, a weight limit, traffic calming speed humps or give ways.
Please can this matter be looked into.
