Flooding problem
Reported via Open311 in the Flooding category by Cheshire East Council at 17:01, Thu 18 June 2020
Council ref: 2162541.
Each time there is moderate rainfall both the coffee shop (RX Lounge) and fitness facility (CWONE) situated on Underwood lane flood due to blocked drains. The owners of both establishments have reported this numerous times to both the Council and United Utilities with no appropriate action taken. Last night after heavy rainfall the flooring in both facilities was again flooded by a couple of inches.
As you can appreciate this is a difficult time already for both businesses due to the ongoing COVID situation. The stacking up of costly repairs to flooring and walls on top of the ongoing burden is unsustainable and easily avoidable if the drains were appropriately cleaned.
The hundreds of members and regular patrons of both establishments want these local businesses to survive so that they can continue to thrive and be the centre of out community post-lockdown.
However, United Utilities inaction in simply unblocking the drains outside of these businesses is currently putting that in danger.
I ask for you to please provide whatever assistance you can in resolving this matter promptly, as the owners of both establishments are in despair and the future of these local businesses are in jeopardy. One small action from United Utilities would prevent this, and I believe you are both in a position to help encourage them to act.
